Lettering

The best forms of advertisement for your brand

What is channel lettering?

Think about it, the first thing you notice of a business is its entrance and name. When it comes to making yourself known in New York City, you should aim for your store-front to stand out and draw attention to your business. Channel lettering is a 3-dimensional graphic sign element that displays your company’s name or logo. When mounted onto the front of your store, these custom signs instantly become one of the best forms of advertisement for your business. Channel lettering is also a great way to advertise your store, create brand awareness, and gain foot-traffic. These custom signs are made with letters that are vibrant, bold, and individually lit to ensure maximum visibility from afar. You’ll be able to attract new customers like never before.

What channel lettering options are available?

Our team of experts is capable of designing many different styles of channel letters, made from a wide variety of durable materials. Let your storefront shine with custom signs that illuminate your channel lettering with neon gas tubes or LED modules. Different materials are used depending on your specific needs. We can design your channel letters out of:

  • Stainless steel
  • Aluminum
  • Acrylic
  • Polycarbonate

Although a variety of channel lettering techniques can be used for your storefront, standard channel lettering and reverse-lit channel lettering are the two most common types.

Standard Channel Lettering

This very common form of channel lettering requires sheet metal to be machine-cut into a specified shape, forming the back of the letters. The sides of the letters, also known as “returns”, are formed by bending strips of aluminum around the back. Lighting components are inserted and covered with a translucent plastic face. This translucency allows light to shine through and prevents potential customers from missing your business at night.

Reverse Lit Channel Lettering

In this letter type, the face of the letter is machine-cut from aluminum, and the lighting is directed to the back. This light floods the wall that the letter is mounted to and creates a negative space at night, silhouetting the letters against the illumination. Letters in this style are also called “halo letters”. Looking for something a bit more unusual? Our team of experts can design everything from open face channel letters to front and back lit channel letters, and much more!
