Turning a Midtown Casual Spot Into a Year-Round Destination
A Midtown fast-casual spot had a different challenge. The food was aimed at office workers and quick lunches, but the façade looked cluttered and rushed. The front glass was covered in small stickers and random signs. In bad weather, a thin temporary vestibule showed up, slightly crooked and clearly not built to last. Lines for lunch often spilled onto the sidewalk, and rain blew straight into the ordering area.
Before the upgrade, common issues showed up every day:
- Crowded doorway, no clear place to form a line
- Messy glass with too many small signs competing for attention
- Seasonal vestibule that looked cheap and off-brand
- Uncomfortable swings in temperature near the counter
We replaced that setup with a custom vestibule and coordinated storefront. Key design moves included:
- Mixed glazing, clear glass at eye level for visibility and frosted lower panels for privacy and a cleaner look
- Sturdy aluminum framing, color-matched to the main awning for a unified face to the street
- Backlit signage mounted at eye level on the vestibule, so office workers could spot it from down the block
- Updated awnings and window graphics, so the entire façade felt like one thought-out design
Inside the vestibule, there is now a logical path: space for a short queue, a clear pickup zone for delivery orders, and a second barrier to keep rain and hot or cold air from rushing inside. The restaurant’s presence on the block feels more polished, which helps it stand out next to national brands. Over time, the space started to feel like a reliable go-to spot for office workers, not just another quick bite.
